Wood Projects: doll high chair & Welcome sign

Doll high chair 2

Here's the chair with the tray forward to allow room to put the doll in the seat.

Here's the chair with the tray back, to hold the doll in place.

One of my husband’s co-workers requested a pair of doll high chairs for her daughters. She had found a picture online that showed the type of thing she was thinking of but it had disappeared before Richard got around to that project. We didn’t have any design plans but we do have plenty of experience so this is the result. I love the sliding tray, so easy but also sturdy.

Richard has recently discovered the joy of scroll saw work so for Christmas he made one of these Welcome plaques for each of our grown children.

Richard’s work continues to amaze me. He is so artistic!

We still love the turtle he made last year.

Tell him to keep up the good work, and I wonder when he will decide to do this kind of work full-time.

Thanks, Gerald. He actually texted me from work to let me know they loved them and he has orders for more! 😀 But he says doing wood work as a job would take the fun out of it.

I have been looking for something like this for my granddaughters! The chair is beautiful and quite a clever design to have the tray sliding. Any chance you would be willing to share the plans?

No plans. We found a picture of a doll highchair online that we liked and looked sturdy enough for a kid to climb on, as you know someone will try that. Then we came up with a system to make the tray adjust. I can’t recall right off how we did it but Richard is going to see if he has any drawings or something useful to pass on to you.
